Story Title: Occult Power
(Inspired by a true incident – the spread of fear and horror)
Part 1: The Dark Night of Chhattisgarh
It was the summer of 2010, when a sudden wave of fear swept through a small village near Bhilai. Superstition and whispers of witchcraft had always lingered there, but this time, it shook people to their very core.
At the center of the village stood an old mud house, its walls darkened as if coated with soot and ash. Inside that house lived Ramlal Ojha—people called him the witch doctor. He claimed to possess “supernatural powers” and the ability to communicate with spirits. Villagers feared him, yet some believed in him.
His family was also involved—his wife Kamla and elder son Hari. It was said that the entire family practiced black magic and occult rituals.
The Beginning of Horrific Events
Gradually, villagers began noticing strange things. At night, from Ramlal’s house, they heard chants, the clanging of iron chains, and at times even the cries of children.
One day, two innocent kids vanished: six-year-old Pooja and eight-year-old Arun. Their parents went frantic, searching everywhere—through the forest, by the pond, even in neighbors’ homes—but they found nothing.
Whispers spread across the village:
“This is Ramlal Ojha’s doing.”
“He hid the children to gain occult power.”
“He’ll sacrifice them… God help us.”
The elders warned that dark forces often demanded the sacrifice of the innocent.
The Secret Room’s Mystery
On the third night, a few brave villagers decided to spy on Ramlal’s house. Midnight fell, the entire village was drowned in darkness, but from his house, smoke rose and a crimson light glowed.
From inside, loud chanting echoed:
“Om Kalike… accept the sacrifice… grant power… grant fortune…”
And then—
a voice was heard, not human at all. It was so deep and terrifying, it felt like a demon itself was speaking.
Terrified, the villagers stepped back, but one of them dared to peek through a crack. What he saw froze his blood—
Ramlal and his family stood within a black circle, goat’s blood flowing in the middle, and tied nearby were the two children, sobbing and begging for help.
Panic in the Village
By morning, rumors had spread everywhere. No one doubted anymore—the Ojha family was preparing to sacrifice the children.
Gathered together, villagers argued:
“If this is true, we must stop him.”
“But how? They have black magic… what if they curse us?”
Fear and restlessness consumed everyone. The children’s parents were in temples, crying and begging the gods to save their little ones.
The First Blood
That night, something happened that left the whole village trembling.
A piercing scream came from Ramlal’s house. It was so horrifying that it echoed through the entire village.
And at dawn, when the villagers dared to look, they found fresh bloodstains outside the house.
Now, no one had any doubt left—something dreadful had already taken place.

Occult Power
Part 2: The Night of Sacrifice
The first rays of morning spread across the village, but the scream from the night still echoed in everyone’s hearts. Villagers looked at one another—afraid, trembling. The parents of the missing children were almost lifeless with grief. Women clutched their children tightly, as if fearing someone might snatch them away too.
The village elders decided:
“Tonight, no matter what, we will go to Ramlal’s house. If the children have been sacrificed, such sin cannot remain hidden.”
The Secret Cellar Revealed
As dusk fell, four or five brave villagers, holding torches and sticks, reached Ramlal’s house. From the outside it looked silent, but inside there was a strange stench—a mix of incense and blood.
The door was locked. They found another way in through a broken mud wall.
What they saw inside froze their blood:
-
Strange symbols drawn on the walls with coal
-
A garland of skulls
-
And a wooden coffin-like chest, from which blood was seeping
Their legs shook, but one of them dared to open the chest.
Inside lay Pooja—her face pale, lips dry, eyes wide open. She was no longer alive. A deep cut marked her throat, and beside her stood an iron bowl filled with blood.
Echo of the Chants
Suddenly, from the far side of the cellar, came the voice of Hari (Ramlal’s son).
He was chanting loudly:
“From blood comes power, from power comes fortune… Goddess, appear…”
In front of him sat Arun, still alive but tied with ropes. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he struggled helplessly.
The villagers shouted:
“Stop! This is a sin!”
Just then, Ramlal, his wife, and son stepped into the torchlight. Their faces were smeared with blood, their eyes glowing with madness.
The Claim of Demonic Power
Ramlal laughed loudly and declared:
“You think I’m insane? No… I am chosen. With the sacrifice of these children, I will gain occult power. Wealth, fortune, and immortality will be mine. You cannot stop me.”
His wife Kamla closed her eyes and chanted louder. Hari lifted the blood-filled bowl and placed it into the fire. Thick smoke rose, filling the room.
At that moment… a cold wind swept through. The torches flickered. And it felt as if some unseen demon had descended into the room.
The Villagers’ Fury
Now the villagers, filled with both fear and rage, attacked the family with sticks.
On one side, there were the cries of the people; on the other, Ramlal continued chanting:
“Mother Kali… grant me power…”
But his voice suddenly choked. At that instant, Hari dropped the bowl, and blood spilled across the ground.
Arun gathered his last strength and screamed. His cry was so heart-wrenching, it felt as though the very walls of the house trembled.
The First Ending, Yet Incomplete
The villagers captured Ramlal and his family. Amid chaos and shouting, Arun was rescued.
But Pooja could never return. Her lifeless body remained there.
The police were called. The Ojha family was arrested.
But when the police searched the entire house, in the cellar they found strange symbols carved into the walls and a thick book filled with dark spells.
The book read:
“This is only the beginning… True power comes not from sacrifice, but from awakening the soul.”

Occult Power – Part 3
The news of child sacrifice spread like wildfire in Bhilai, shaking the foundations of every home. People began whispering that evil had once again awakened in the land of Chhattisgarh. The police, who had initially ignored the witch doctor’s activities, were now forced to intensify the investigation.
During the interrogations, the witch doctor revealed the horrifying truth. He confessed that he had been practicing occult rituals for years, claiming that human sacrifices—especially of innocent children—brought immense power and wealth. The family members admitted their involvement, saying they had been promised prosperity, health, and good fortune if they followed his instructions.
The discovery of children’s bones and blood-stained objects at the crime scene turned the village into a place of terror. Locals claimed that cries and laughter of children could be heard at night near the witch doctor’s house. Many said that shadows danced around the trees as if restless souls were wandering, searching for peace.
The police finally arrested everyone involved, but the fear in the community did not vanish. Even though the witch doctor was locked behind bars, people believed that the evil he had unleashed still lingered. Priests and spiritual leaders were called to cleanse the area, performing rituals to drive away the dark forces.
Yet, some villagers swore that whenever they passed by the ruins of that cursed house, they felt an unseen gaze upon them. Some even claimed to see two small figures—covered in blood—standing silently in the doorway, as if waiting for justice.
This incident became one of the darkest chapters in Bhilai’s history, a chilling reminder of how blind faith in occult power can lead humanity to commit unthinkable horrors.
