October 31 — Midnight

The night was so silent that even the distant wind sounded like a scream.
Cold mist was swallowing the graves.
Ethan stood alone. His breathing was quick and shaky.
He kept telling himself that Ryan’s death wasn’t his fault.

But Ryan’s scream was still alive in his ears —
“Ethan… it ripped open my stomach… help me!”

Ethan’s hand trembled.
His eyes were swollen red.
The words of the Greedy Ghost pounded inside his head like hammers —

“The more you desire… the more I take…”

Ethan screamed at the sky —
“I only asked for a little piece of my future… why such a heavy price?”

But there was no answer.
Only the silence of death echoing through the woods.

THE HORRIFIC DEATH OF RYAN MILLER

Ryan’s body was found near the Blackwater River —
half-eaten.
His ribs were sticking out…
half his face was gone…
his eyes had been completely gouged out.

And the most terrifying part —
Ryan’s mouth was stuffed with old coins,
as if someone wanted to seal his hunger forever.

The town sheriff wrote only one line in the file:

“No known animal could do this.
Impossible level of mutilation.”

The government closed the case, calling it a “bear attack.”
But the people of Raven Falls whispered:

“That ghost feeds… on hunger.”

ETHAN’S MIND BEGINS TO BREAK

After Ryan’s death, Ethan started losing his sanity.
He was never hungry — yet he constantly felt starving.
A haunting, deadly hunger.

He locked every door in his house.
From the dark corners came whispers —

“Ethan… you asked for more…
so give me more… of YOU.”

One night, his mother saw him at 2 a.m.,
chewing rotten food straight from the garbage can.

Blood was on his lips…
and madness in his eyes.

“He’s coming… He wants my stomach…
He wants everything I ever wanted…”

THE TERRIFYING SYMBOL DISCOVERED BY RESEARCHERS

Two university researchers —
Prof. Hollis Carter and his assistant Claire Dawn —
were investigating the site near the Blackwater River,
where Ryan had been killed.

There, by the riverbank,
they found a symbol drawn in dark blood.

A grotesque body with sharp ribs,
its stomach completely torn open…
and beneath it, a chilling inscription:

贪念之鬼
(“The Greedy Spirit”)

Prof. Carter trembled as he said:

“This is a Chinese Hungry Ghost…
but extremely aggressive… a devourer.
Someone must have awakened it.”

Claire asked quietly:
“Who could have awakened it?”

Carter’s eyes froze on Ethan’s file.

FOR THE FIRST TIME — THE FULL FACE OF THE GREEDY GHOST

Halloween Night.
Ethan sat alone in his room.
Darkness… freezing wind… whispers crawling through the cracks in the walls.

“Your hunger… is my doorway.”

Suddenly —
the mirror began to melt slowly,
as if dissolving in acid…

And from inside the mirror, a face started to emerge —

⚫ sunken black holes instead of eyes
⚫ no nose
⚫ the entire face shaped like a massive mouth —
rows and rows of teeth, endless teeth
⚫ the jaw ripped open down to the chest
⚫ and inside its stomach — another, even larger, hungry mouth

Ethan screamed —
“PLEASE! STOP! PLEASE!”

The Greedy Ghost whispered:

“I give you what you want most…
…and then I take it ALL away.”

The mirror shattered —
its shards buried deep into Ethan’s skin.
Blood began to flow.

But Ethan wasn’t screaming…

He was laughing.

Professor Hollis Carter stood in front of an old, dusty slide projector.
On the wall, black-and-white photographs of the Riverbank after Ryan’s death flickered faintly.
Claire Dawn sat nearby, notebook in hand, jotting down every small detail.

Carter spoke softly—

“This isn’t just a Hungry Ghost…
This is a Devourer Spirit —
a being that feeds on the greediest desires of humankind.”

Claire pointed toward the edge of one photo.

“Sir… look at this! Carvings! Symbols!”

Two strange words were carved into the wood:

DESIRE MORE
STARVE MORE

Carter’s face turned pale.

“Whoever awakened it…
has unleashed the hungriest spirit on Earth.”

In Raven Falls, one night before Halloween,
an old local tradition used to take place —
The Soul Feeding Ceremony.

In a glass bowl, people would place
money, food, sweets, and the thing they desired the most.

It was said that
this offering fed the hunger of departed loved ones.

But Professor Carter found something disturbing in the city’s old library records—

This ritual didn’t come from American culture at all.
It was introduced to Raven Falls in 1860
by a Chinese immigrant.

Inside the journal was a chilling note:

If the offering is too greedy…
the Hungry Spirit becomes a God of Hunger.

Meaning—
if you ask for too much,
the ritual turns dangerous.

Ethan’s mother filed a report at the Town Police Station:

“My son is starving to death… even while he keeps eating!”

But the police dismissed it as a drug-related issue.

At night, Ethan would scratch his walls and write again and again—

I WANT MORE
I WANT MORE

His nails tore off,
his hands bled,
but the words never stopped.

GHOST ORIGIN — The Chinese Devourer

Carter was now holding an old diary—
written by a Chinese laborer named Li Guang Wei.

In 1860, his son had died of starvation.
To feed his soul, he performed a secret ritual.
But his wish was:

I want my son to come back…
No matter the cost.

And it came true—
his son returned…
but with an empty stomach, no face—only a mouth.

Slowly, that spirit devoured all the food in the village…
then moved on to devour the living.

People began calling it—

The Greedy Ghost.

The government destroyed all evidence
and sealed the creature inside the river.

But now,
Ethan’s greedy wish
had broken that seal.

The monster was back.

• Reports classified by Federal Agents.
• Directive: Erase folklore, create natural cause reports.

The final line was terrifying:

If host is chosen again,
Eliminate the host.

Claire trembled.

“Host means… Ethan Miller…”

Carter whispered:

“We need to find him… before they do.”

ETHAN’S FINAL TRANSFORMATION

Ethan sat between the roots of a giant tree.
His bones were sharp under his skin,
his belly sunken deep,

something trying to crawl out from inside him.

In the fog, the same voice echoed—
Greedy Ghost:

Let me wear you…
and I will make you MORE…

Ethan’s spine cracked.
His head twisted backward.
His ribs burst open.
His stomach tore apart,
revealing a massive mouth filled with jagged teeth.

Ethan whispered one last time in a human voice—

“I don’t want… more…
I want… help…”

But it was too late.
Ethan Miller was no longer human.

He had become—

The New Greedy.

In the forest, there was no scream.
Only hunger echoed through the dark.
