🩸 THE LAST DEMON HUNTER
Part 1 — The Beginning of Blood
✍ Writer: Reax Accer
A Dark Fantasy Horror Story
The night was unnaturally quiet.
So quiet that even the faint rustle of the wind sounded like a whisper.
The stone streets of the old European city of Prague were covered in thick fog.
The clock struck 2:17 AM.
And at that exact moment…
the first scream echoed through the darkness.
It wasn’t a scream of pain.
It was a scream of pure terror.
Adrian Blackwood slowly opened his eyes.
A single red candle burned in the room.
Its flame trembled against the wall as if the shadows themselves were alive.
Adrian reached for his sword.
It was no ordinary blade.
Strange symbols were carved into the steel — ancient, dangerous, and cursed.
Adrian Blackwood was a demon hunter.
And for the past 15 years, his life had been devoted to only one mission—
“Another one…”
he whispered quietly.
Without hesitation, he jumped out the window.
Down in the alley, the smell of blood filled the air.
Fresh blood.
A body lay in the middle of the street.
Half of the victim’s face had been torn apart.
Bones were visible through the shredded flesh.
But that wasn’t the most horrifying part.
The most terrifying thing was that the corpse was smiling.
Standing beside it was a creature.
Its eyes glowed red.
Black smoke drifted slowly from its mouth.
A demon.
“You’re too late, hunter…”
the creature laughed.
Adrian didn’t respond.
He slowly stepped forward.
Then—
CLANG!
His sword flashed like lightning.
One strike.
In the next second…
the demon’s head rolled across the stone pavement.
Black blood spilled across the street.
But then…
something strange happened.
Instead of sinking into the ground, the demon’s black blood began to crawl into Adrian’s skin.
His hands started burning.
His veins slowly turned dark.
“No… not again…”
Adrian muttered.
He quickly tightened the leather strap around his wrist.
It wasn’t just a strap.
It was a talisman.
Because Adrian knew something terrifying—
Every time he killed a demon…
a fragment of that demon’s soul entered his body.
Slowly…
the hunter himself begins to become part of the darkness he hunts.
But one demon still remained.
The one Adrian had sworn to kill many years ago.
Adrian returned to his house.
It stood outside the city, behind an old abandoned church.
The walls were covered with blood-written symbols and rituals.
And in the center of the room…
there was a massive iron cage.
Adrian opened the door.
He stepped inside.
And then he locked himself in.
He did this every night.
Because sometimes…
when morning came, he couldn’t remember what happened during the night.
But in the city, new bodies were always discovered.
Torn apart.
Ripped open.
Half eaten.
“Just one more demon…”
Adrian whispered to himself.
“If I kill it…
everything will finally end.”
But Adrian didn’t know something terrifying.
He didn’t know who he was really searching for.
And he didn’t know who the real demon truly was.
That same night…
in another part of the city…
an old priest stood inside the ancient St. Vitus Cathedral.
In his hands was a very old book.
His voice trembled as he read the prophecy:
“When the last demon remains…
the hunter will be searching for himself.”
Fear filled the priest’s eyes.
“Oh God…”
“If this is true…”
“Then Adrian Blackwood doesn’t know…”
“That the demon he is hunting…”
“…is actually—”
Suddenly the cathedral doors burst open.
A violent gust of wind rushed inside.
The candles went out instantly.
And in the darkness…
two red eyes appeared.
Far away…
inside the iron cage…
Adrian suddenly turned in his sleep.
A low growl escaped his lips.
And his teeth…
slowly began to grow sharper.
But the most terrifying part was yet to come.
Because that very night…
someone secretly entered Adrian’s house—
and stole the key to the cage.

Part 2 — The Open Cage

The night was not over yet.
Dark clouds drifted across the sky as if someone had spilled ink over it.
The streets of Prague were even quieter than before.
But inside that silence…
something dangerous had already begun to move.
The iron cage slowly creaked.
Click…
The lock opened on its own.
The door trembled slightly.
And then… slowly swung open.
Inside, lying on the floor, Adrian Blackwood suddenly moved.
His breathing had grown heavy.
Something strange was flowing through his veins—
something dark… something alive…
something that was not human.
He slowly opened his eyes.
But his eyes were no longer the same.
A faint red glow burned within them.
“No…”
he groaned.
“Not today…”
He understood.
The cage was open.
And if he stepped outside…
by morning, the city would be filled with nothing but corpses.
But then—
a voice echoed through the room.
“There is no one left to stop you now, Adrian…”
The voice came from the darkness.
Adrian gripped his sword tightly.
The symbols engraved along its blade began to glow faintly.
“Who’s there?”
he growled.
An old man slowly stepped out of the shadows.
It was the same priest who had been standing earlier in St. Vitus Cathedral.
But now his face looked different.
Very different.
His smile no longer looked human.
“Father Mikel?”
Adrian recognized him.“What are you doing here?”
The priest chuckled softly.
“I came to see you…”
“To witness the birth of the last demon.”
The room suddenly grew colder.
Adrian’s anger flared.
“Be quiet!”
His sword flashed through the air.
But the priest did not move.
“You have killed thousands of demons…”
he said calmly.
“But have you ever wondered…”
“Where their souls go?”
Adrian fell silent.
Because he already knew the answer.
And that answer terrified him.
“Every time you kill a demon…”
the priest continued,
“its soul enters you.”
“Into your veins…”
“Into your blood…”
“Into your soul.”
Adrian’s fists began to tremble.
“Stop…”
he gritted his teeth.
“Just stop…”
But the priest did not stop.
“You believe the last demon is someone else…”
“But the truth…”
“is much closer than you think.”
Suddenly, the priest’s face began to change.
His skin started to crack.
His eyes turned completely black.
His spine twisted.
And within seconds…
he transformed into a horrifying demon.
“Do you recognize me?”
the creature roared.
“I am…”
Belial
The room was instantly swallowed by darkness.
The crosses on the walls shattered.
Candles ignited by themselves.
Adrian tightened his grip on the sword.
“So we finally meet…”
“A servant of the last demon.”
BOOM!
The demon lunged toward him like lightning.
Adrian swung his sword.
A spray of blood cut through the air.
But this was no ordinary fight.
With every strike…
Adrian’s power grew stronger.
The red glow in his eyes intensified.
His teeth began to sharpen.
And suddenly—
he grabbed the demon by the head
and slammed it against the wall.
CRASH!
The wall cracked.
The skull shattered.
Black blood splattered everywhere.
But before dying, the demon laughed.
A horrifying laugh.
“You’re not winning…”
“You’re changing…”
Adrian finished it.
His sword pierced straight through the demon’s heart.
The body collapsed onto the floor.
But in that exact moment…
black smoke rose from the corpse
and shot directly into Adrian’s body.
Adrian screamed.
His veins began to darken.
His skin felt like it was burning.
And his eyes…
turned completely red.
At the same time…
on the other side of the city,
a little girl looked out of her window.
She thought she saw a shadow running across the rooftops.
Very fast.
Very dangerous.
Then the shadow stopped.
Slowly stood up.
And under the moonlight…
its face became visible.
It was a man.
But his eyes were like a demon’s.
The girl’s scream tore through the night.
And at that very moment…
the first night of slaughter in Prague had begun.
The streets of Prague were even quieter than before.
he groaned.
he growled.
he said calmly.
the priest continued,
he gritted his teeth.
the creature roared.
and slammed it against the wall.
