Black Hollow Texas Horror Story

TEXAS: THE DEAD CITY
Undead creatures wandering through a destroyed Texas city during a zombie apocalypse at night
When the sun goes down in Texas, the dead rise again to hunt the living.

“Where the dead come back to life every night…”

The Night They Returned

Texas • Black Hollow County
October 17, 2026

It was exactly 11:43 PM.

The entire town was swallowed by darkness.
The wind was so cold that even the tree branches trembled on their own.

But the real fear wasn’t the cold.

The real fear was the people…

the ones who had already died.

And now…

they were coming back.

No one knew when it started.
No one understood why it was happening.

Emily Carter stood near her living room window, staring outside.
One hand covered the mouth of her 8-year-old daughter Lily so she wouldn’t cry.

Her other hand tightly held her 5-year-old son Noah.

Her stomach slightly showed beneath her sweater.

She was pregnant.

A four-month-old baby was growing inside her.

And maybe…

that child was the last unborn baby still alive in the city.

If there were any other survivors left in Texas, Emily had no way of knowing.

Maybe she was just lucky to still be breathing while the entire state suffered from the terrifying outbreak.

Then suddenly—

someone appeared across the street.

Emily’s heart nearly stopped.

“No… that’s impossible…” she whispered.

The man had died three days ago.

Officer Daniel Brooks.

Emily herself had watched his body being loaded into a morgue van.

But now…

he was walking down the street.

Like a normal man.

Holding a coffee cup.

Smiling.

As if he were still alive.

But he wasn’t.

His throat was ripped almost completely open.

Like something had chewed through his neck.

Then suddenly—

he turned his head.

Directly toward Emily’s house.

He had no eyes.

Only empty black holes.

But somehow…

he could still see everything around him.

Emily couldn’t understand how that was possible.

Down on the street, more “people” wandered through the darkness.

Some were grabbing beer from a gas station.

Some sat outside eating burgers.

Some laughed.

Some talked on their phones.

It looked completely normal.

Except for one thing—

their bodies were destroyed.

One man’s intestines dragged across the pavement.

Another had no jaw.

Some had no lips at all…

yet they still smiled.

And a few of them…

seemed to be sniffing the scent of children.

Emily had no idea how these creatures could even walk.

And honestly—

she didn’t want to know.

Because every day had become a war.

A war to protect herself.

A war to keep her children alive.

Every second felt like it could be the last.

The Hunger
Undead zombies crawling out of graves during a dark horror ritual in Texas
As black blood touched the ground, the graves began to open.

Emily slowly shut the basement door.

The room below was pitch black.

Their water was almost gone.

They only had enough food left for two more days.

She split a single biscuit between the kids.

She didn’t eat anything herself.

Noah started crying softly.

“Mom… I’m hungry…”

Then he whispered something that shattered Emily’s heart.

“Maybe I should become one of them… at least then I wouldn’t have to feel like I’m dying every day.”

Tears filled Emily’s eyes.

But she knew one thing—

if the sound of crying reached outside…

they would come.

And then—

it happened.

Heavy footsteps echoed above them.

THUMP…

THUMP…

THUMP…

Someone was inside the house.

Lily began shaking.

“Mom… are they back again?”

Emily stayed silent.

She turned off the basement lights.

Then another sound came from upstairs.

A child’s voice.

“Mommy… please open the door…”

Noah’s eyes widened.

“Ethan!!”

Emily’s blood froze instantly.

Ethan was the neighbor’s son.

He had been killed the night before.

And dead children don’t speak.

But the voice outside…

wasn’t human.

It was calling them out.

The Ritual
Undead monsters searching for children in a dark Texas neighborhood at night
The creatures could smell children hiding inside the houses

2:13 AM.

The entire town slowly moved toward the cemetery.

Hundreds of dead people walked together in silence.

Like something was summoning them.

Emily watched through the tiny basement window.

And then—

she saw something no human should ever witness.

A massive black symbol was painted in the center of the graveyard.

Corpses stood around it in a circle.

And in the middle…

stood a woman.

Wearing a long black dress.

Her smile had been stitched into her face.

The corners of her mouth were sliced all the way to her ears.

She chanted in a strange language Emily had never heard before.

Then suddenly—

every dead person began vomiting black blood from their mouths.

The blood poured onto the ground.

And beneath the earth…

the graves started shaking.

Like something underneath was waking up.

One by one—

new corpses clawed their way out of the dirt.

Some had no arms.

Some had half-eaten faces.

But all of them…

were smiling.

As if death itself had blessed them with another chance to walk again.

The Rule

Emily finally understood the truth.

These creatures never came out during the day.

Before sunrise—

they died again.

But every night…

they returned.

They ate.

They drank.

They hunted.

And worst of all—

they loved the taste of children.

Emily didn’t know why.

Then suddenly—

a scratching sound came from the basement wall behind her.

SCRATCH…

SCRATCH…

SCRATCH…

Emily slowly turned around.

Tiny fingers were pushing through the wall.

And then—

a small voice whispered from inside the darkness.

“Mommy… I’m so hungry…”

Emily froze in terror.

That was impossible.

Because her third daughter…

hadn’t even been born yet.

So what was really inside her?

And what if everything she believed until now…

was completely wrong?
