(Oregon, USA — Three Months Later)
1. Life Returned from Ashes
“Every night I wake up to someone else’s screams… but those voices aren’t in my room — they echo inside me.”
— Macy Mullins’ Diary, May 23
Three months had passed since that night —
the night the Mullvain House burned to ashes.
The police report said:
“Accidental fire. No survivors.”
But they were wrong.
Macy was alive.
Now she was living in a small coastal town called Coastal Bend, Oregon.
Her hair had turned darker, shadows lived beneath her eyes,
and strange bluish marks sometimes appeared on her body —
as if someone was grabbing her from the inside.
She seemed to be living a normal life —
working at an old bakery, renting a small apartment, living alone.
But at night, she still heard that whisper:
“Caretaker… your work isn’t done…”
2. The First Death
The bakery owner, Mrs. Larson, was an old but cheerful woman.
She treated Macy like her own daughter.
But one morning, when the shop was opened,
Mrs. Larson’s body was found behind the counter.
Her face was horribly twisted, her eyes wide open,
and her hands stretched forward — as if trying to grab something invisible.
Police said it was a heart attack.
But there was something strange in the CCTV footage.
At 3:15 a.m. (the same time that always froze in the Mullvain House),
the camera began to flicker.
And in the next frame —
a faint shadow stood right behind Macy.
3. The Return of Alice
“I saw my sister die. But now she’s alive.
Or maybe she became something else.”

Alice, Macy’s younger sister, lived in Portland.
One day she received an email from a stranger:
“Your sister is alive. Coastal Bend.”
She left immediately.
When she saw her sister, her heart nearly stopped.
It was Macy — but something was wrong.
Her smile was too still.
Her eyes too calm… too unnatural.
Over dinner, Alice asked,
“Hey, how are you now, Macy?”
Macy smiled,
“I’m fine… I’m not alone anymore.”
Alice frowned,
“What do you mean?”
Macy’s voice lowered,
“She lives with me now… she is the house.”
Alice noticed Macy’s palm.
Something was written in blood —
one word: Caretaker.
4. Shadows Over the Town
Strange things began happening in Coastal Bend.
Knocks on windows at night,
the sound of children playing in the cemetery,
and people whispering that the bakery girl’s shadow
still appeared after sunset.
The Oregon Chronicle published a headline:
“Has the Mullvain curse returned to Coastal Bend?”
People started whispering that Macy brought death with her.
But there was no proof —
only one sign left behind after every death:
the blood-written word — “Caretaker.”
5. The Demon Within
At 3 a.m., Macy would hear scratching behind the walls.
When she looked in the mirror,
her reflection wasn’t there.
Instead, she saw the old attic of Mullvain House —
and inside it, the mirror she had shattered once before.
Now that mirror was inside her.
Each time someone near her died,
her reflection changed —
her skin cracked into dark lines,
her eyes turned smoky and hollow.
One night, she saw that old woman standing behind her, smiling.
“You’re doing well, Macy… every soul you bring keeps me alive.”
Macy smashed the mirror again —
but this time, the voice came from within her:
“You are the mirror.”
6. The Police Investigation
Detective Ray Harlan was assigned to the case.
Five deaths in three weeks —
all with open eyes, burned hearts, no wounds,
and a single word written nearby in blood: Caretaker.
He interrogated Macy.
“Miss Mullins, why are you always near when these people die?”
Macy replied calmly,
“I don’t go to them… they come to me.”
“Who comes to you?”
“Those who need care.”
Ray closed the file slowly.
Fear crept into his eyes.
He realized — this woman was either cursed…
or the curse itself.
7. The Curse Spreads
Macy began sleepwalking every night.
CCTV footage showed her walking out of her apartment
and down to the shore.
There she would stand, arms spread, whispering:
“Caretaker… caretaker…”
The next morning, two fishermen were found dead on the beach.
Their necks were bruised with black,
their fingers darkened as if burned from the inside.
Alice now understood —
her sister was no longer human.
8. The Diary’s Secret
Alice found Macy’s old diary.
On the last few pages, it read:
“Every night I feel someone’s hands.
They bend my fingers, move my mouth.
I’m not Macy anymore.
I am the one who tends to others…
I am The Caretaker.”
Below it was a strange symbol —
a house with an eye drawn in the center.
9. The Final Confrontation
Alice faced her sister.
“Macy, you’re not yourself anymore.”
Macy smiled,
“Then who am I?”
“You’re a demon.”
“No… I’m a home.”
The walls began to tremble.
Doors slammed shut.
Macy’s eyes turned completely black.
Her voice split into many voices at once:
“Every home needs a Caretaker…
and now, this entire town is my home.”
Alice screamed.
The room caught fire.
But Macy didn’t burn —
she turned into ashes and drifted into the air.
10. The Next Morning
People began to flee from Coastal Bend.
Every wall in town now bore the same word — Caretaker.
And every night, at 3:15 a.m.,
the sound of dragging footsteps echoed through the fog.
Detective Ray wrote his final report:
“Fire spread from Mullvain ashes. No survivors again.”
But as he sat in his car and looked in the rearview mirror,
he saw someone sitting in the back seat.
Black eyes. A cracked smile.
Hair covered in ash.
Macy.
“Who will take care of you, Detective?”

Coastal Bend was officially declared an abandoned zone.
But locals still whisper —
when the fog rolls in,
you can see a girl in the window of an old bakery,
smiling softly at customers:
“Welcome back… I’ll take care of you.”

Prologue: The Return of Macy
“They say some houses are never truly empty.”
That thought struck me the moment I stepped once again onto that crumbling hill in Oregon.
I’m Mike Larson — the same local reporter who, five years ago, covered the story of the Caretaker Mansion, when everyone thought the curse had finally ended.
But I had lied.
The curse never ended — it just went to sleep.
I had written in my old notebook:
“If someday you smell that salty mist in the air, mixed with the scent of burnt wood… know this — Macy has returned.”
And today, that very smell was back in the air.
Chapter 1: The Breathing House
The mansion looked the same — broken windows, dead flowers, and dark burn marks on the walls like scars from some forgotten fire.
By the door, the old wooden board still hung there —
“The Caretaker – Private Property”
But that day, someone had written something else over it — in red —
“She’s Awake.”
When I opened the door, a cold gust froze my breath.
It felt like the house was alive — every wall seemed to be breathing.
Inside, the old rocking chair was moving.
On its own.
Just like it did five years ago — the last time Macy sat there.
Chapter 2: Macy’s Face
Around two in the morning, I climbed the stairs.
The upstairs room… the same one where Macy had been burned alive.
Her nail marks were still carved into the walls — and on the floor, among the ashes, a lock of hair lay untouched.
As I bent down, someone whispered behind me —
“You came back…”
I turned around — and my spine froze.
A woman was standing there — half human, half something else.
Her face looked like Macy’s, but her eyes… deep, red, and burning from within.
She smiled, and smoke poured from her mouth —
“Mike… did you really think I’d remain just a story?”
She stepped closer, and the whole room began to twist — walls bending, wood melting.
I ran. But outside, the forest had changed.
Every branch looked like a hand — reaching out to grab me.
Chapter 3: The Birth of the Demon
The next day, I went to the local sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Kevin Ross laughed in my face —
“Your ghost stories have scared half this damn town, Mike.”
But that same night, Kevin’s wife disappeared.
In the morning, they found her by the lake — still alive…
but something was moving under her skin.
The doctors said —
“There’s something inside her… and it’s not human.”
Three days later, Kevin vanished too.
And once again, that smell returned — burnt soil and hair.
That’s when I knew —
Macy was no longer a spirit.
She was now a mother.
And whatever was growing inside her… wasn’t human.
Chapter 4: The Screams in the Woods
That part of Oregon is empty now.
Everyone has fled.
At night, laughter of children echoes from the woods — but there are no children there.
I’m the only living witness left.
Every night, I record the voices — and in every recording, Macy’s name can be heard whispering.
“Caretaker… caretaker… caretaker…”
Sometimes, she whispers —
“Mike… you wrote my truth… now I’ll write yours.”
Chapter 5: The Final Note
I’m writing this before I die.
Because now I know — this curse runs through blood.
Macy’s body may have turned to dust, but her blood never died.
It flows in everyone who’s ever touched that land.
I am one of them.
Dark veins are spreading through my hands.
At night, when I look into the mirror, I see her shadow standing behind me.
Tonight, I’ll go back to that house — one last time.
If I return… I won’t be human anymore.
And if I don’t…
Someone else will become “The Caretaker.”
