Part – 1: Light Stained with Blood

The sea has always been a home to mysteries. Who knows what lies hidden in its depths? But some secrets stay right on the surface… among the waves, where ships break apart, and lives are shattered.

Centuries ago, when people began traveling from one country to another by ship, one place became infamous on every sailor’s tongue. The rocks there were so sharp and deadly that countless ships were smashed to pieces. Many sailors called it “the sea’s hell,” while others whispered it was a “hidden paradise.”

Hell—because hundreds of people aboard those ships breathed their last there.
Paradise—because each time a ship sank, the tide carried precious goods to shore, and the locals grew rich by collecting them.

The village by the coast grew wealthier day by day. Poor fishermen sold chests of gold, silver, gemstones, and spices, and began living like kings. But human greed often looks like a crime in the eyes of others.

Soon, an organization of sailors was formed. These were men who had lost their ships, and who had given their brothers and sons to the sea. Their anger turned upon that village.

It was the night of a lunar eclipse.
The sky was crimson red, the waves trembled as if shaken by an invisible power. That night, the organization attacked. Women, children, the elderly—none were spared. Every home was set ablaze, and the entire village drowned in fire and blood.

By morning, when the eclipse ended, the sea’s waves brought only corpses to the shore.

After silencing that place forever, the victors decided a new chapter should begin in this hell. They built a massive lighthouse there, so ships could remain safe and never again crash upon the rocks.

At first, everything was fine.
But… soon, fear returned in a new form.

The First Death

A young sailor was hired to work at the lighthouse. His name was Thomas.
On his very first night, he heard strange whispers rising from the sea:

“Why did you light the lamp? Leave us in the dark…”

He grew frightened, but convinced himself it was only the sound of the waves.

On the second night, he found wet footprints on the stairs, though no one had climbed them.
On the third night, his scream was swallowed by the sea. By morning, people found Thomas’s body hanging from the top of the lighthouse. His eyes were wide open, his lips bloodied, and his face frozen in such terror as if he had seen death itself.

His death was called an accident.

But that was only the beginning.

The Curse Spreads
https://horrorstory1600.blogspot.com

Every time a new man came to work there, he met a horrific death within a month.
Sometimes a body was found plastered into the lighthouse wall, as if buried alive.
Sometimes only the torso was found, the head missing.
Sometimes the eyes were gouged out, and on the wall was written:

“Don’t light the lamp without blood.”

People realized the souls of that village, drowned in blood on the night of the eclipse, had not found peace.
They killed anyone who tried to survive in that place.

Greed vs. Fear

The government offered one million rupees to anyone willing to work at the lighthouse.
Such an amount could secure generations of a family. But even money was no match for the fear of that cursed place.

No young man came forward.
No old man wanted to waste his last breaths there.
Women and children refused even to pass nearby.

Still, a few greedy men formed a team and went.
“If we stick together, nothing will happen to us,” they thought.

But that night, the sea winds and the lighthouse windows seemed to laugh.
Three days later, when they were searched for, only bloody handprints were found on the stairs.
Below, the sea carried floating severed bodies, and once again the lighthouse wall bore the words:

“Don’t light the lamp without blood.”

End of Part 1.

👉 In Part 2, the truth will be revealed—how this curse was born, and what true power hides in the lighthouse. Is it the work of restless souls… or something far more ancient rising from the depths of the sea?

The Lighthouse

Part – 2: The Sea of the Dead

There was always a strange silence in the waves of the sea. During the day everything looked normal, but as soon as the sun went down, the air around the lighthouse would change. It felt as if the sea itself was breathing… and something inside it was trying to come out.

People used to say that those who were killed on the night of the village massacre—women, children, the elderly—their souls never found peace.
But the truth was far more terrifying.

The Dead Awaken

In the darkness of night, whenever the lighthouse torch went out, the wet soil near the shore began to stir.
At first, small bubbles appeared, then the ground cracked, and from it rotten hands emerged.
Slowly, entire bodies crawled out.

These were not ordinary spirits—they were corpses, with trapped souls inside them.
Some crawled on their knees,
some scuttled quickly on their hands,
some flopped and writhed across the ground like rotten fish.

Their bodies were covered with sea shells, algae, and slime. Their eyes were hollow, yet burned with a poisonous blue glow.

Each night, their numbers grew.

The Curse of the Light

When the lighthouse torch was lit, its beam struck the corpses, and they melted like wax candles.
Their hands, faces, and bones all dissolved back into the soil.

But this brought no relief…
Because each time a corpse melted in the light, from its ashes and flesh a new corpse was born.
Meaning—the more they died, the greater their numbers became.

Sometimes a single melting corpse would give rise to monstrous beings with two heads or three arms.
Their screams echoed louder than the waves, and the entire sky seemed to shake.

The Death of the Greedy
https://horrorstory1600.blogspot.com

The team that came to the lighthouse for the lure of one million rupees didn’t survive even their first night.
They lit the torch and breathed in relief, but by the third watch of the night, the flame went out.

As soon as darkness spread, the sound of thousands of scratching hands echoed outside.

“Thak… thak… thak…”
As if claws were tearing at the walls.

Suddenly, through the windows, they saw dark figures crawling rapidly along the shore.
Some looked like humans, some like spiders, and some like the rotting corpses of horses.

They quickly relit the torch—
and saw hundreds of corpses melting at once.
But in the next moment, new corpses emerged from the waves.

There were so many that, from the window, the sea looked like nothing but rotting flesh.

Soon, they broke down the doors of the lighthouse and stormed inside.
The screams of the men were so horrifying that they could be heard for miles.
By morning, when searchers arrived, all they found inside were splashes of blood and words etched into the wall—

“Don’t let the light go out… or we will become countless.”

The Sea’s Secret

Gradually, the news spread across the region.
It was said that on the night of the lunar eclipse, when the village was destroyed, the souls of its people fell into the sea and became bound to the water and soil.
Now they emerged, imprisoned in the form of corpses.

The sea was their prison, and the lighthouse light their enemy.
But instead of destroying them, the light multiplied them each time.

In other words, the lighthouse itself was a cursed weapon—
its every beam spreading death even further.

The Next Step
https://horrorstory1600.blogspot.com

Now the question was: what would the government do?
Destroy the lighthouse?
Or send a brave soul to end the mystery once and for all?

People whispered of an ancient book, said to contain the cure for the curse.
But to find it, someone would have to survive an entire night inside the lighthouse.

And no one had ever managed to do that.

End of Part 2.

👉 In Part 3—the truth will finally be revealed: how these corpses were truly born, what secret is hidden within the book, and ultimately, how the lighthouse will meet its end.
