🩸📼 "Beyond the Dunes" — Part 1: Beyond the Sound
📍Location: Mojave Desert, California
📆 Year: 2018
Four friends — Rohan (the cameraman), his younger sister Anushka (a singer), their old friend Veer (sound engineer), and Anushka’s friend Siya (stylist) — head deep into the Mojave Desert to film a music video.
Rohan records everything using his handheld camera. He wants the footage to look “raw,” “organic,” unfiltered — nothing fake.
At first, things seem normal:
-
The harsh sun beating down on an empty desert
-
Open sky stretching for miles
-
The sounds of wind, crunching boots, and distant coyotes
But on the very first night, the camera picks up something strange —
a low pulsing sound, like a heartbeat.
Nobody gives it much thought… until it returns. Again. Louder. Closer.
🌒 One night… everything changes.
Rohan’s camera captures a tall, faceless figure dragging itself through the sand.
Siya wakes up with a nosebleed.
Anushka begins to sing in her sleep, but in a strange, unknown language — not her own.
The next morning, they discover a stone circle, ancient and half-buried.
At its center: charred bones and blackened ash.
Veer jokes:
— “Some kind of desert cult?”
But the camera starts glitching every time it nears the circle —
the audio stutters, the visuals twitch.
🧠 Things begin to… unravel.
-
Rohan sees double exposures — images overlapping in real time
-
Anushka wakes up with fresh cuts on her arms that weren’t there before
-
The camera slowly starts to rotate by itself during filming — as if guided by unseen hands
Then, Veer vanishes.
Siya claims she saw him —
half-buried in sand, black eyes, smoke pouring from his mouth.
📜 A secret begins to reveal itself.
Rohan finds a torn, yellowed scrap of paper among Veer’s belongings:
“Those who come here get lost in time. Those who go in, don’t come out.
The sounds come first… then the screams.
And then… you become sound itself.”
🔥 End of Part 1:
Rohan looks into the camera — and sees… not himself.
On the screen is a distorted version of him — sunken face, pitch-black eyes, blood dripping from the mouth.
Reality and the footage have started to merge.
Final frame:
-
Anushka is sitting at the bottom of a pit, head bowed
-
The camera pans upward
-
In the sky: a massive black crack, as if the universe itself is tearing apart
"That was only the beginning…"
☠️🌌 "Beyond the Dunes" — Part 2: The Frequency of Death
📼 The camera is still rolling… but Rohan is gone.
The remaining footage is chaotic —
snippets of screaming, cosmic static, blood splatters, and broken bits of old songs.
Siya and Anushka are still alive…
but they’re not themselves anymore.
They talk to something — something unseen, unheard, incomprehensible.
It calls to them from the depths of a black pit — a pit that isn’t in the ground, but in time itself.
📜 The backstory emerges.
From old film reels and torn notes in Veer’s bag, the truth is revealed:
In 1937, the U.S. military discovered a “Zone Δ” in this part of the desert —
an area where sound waves bent, time unraveled, and people went mad.
Some mutilated themselves, others simply vanished.
They had found a gateway — to another dimension.
💀 Violence. Flesh. The end of time.
Now the footage descends into madness:
-
Bodies warp into twisted flesh-masses
-
Time rewinds on itself — the same moment repeats, with more blood each time
-
Rohan’s voice echoes over and over:
“We’re not going home… We’re not going home…”
🔚 Final 10 minutes:
Anushka lies in a pit, softly humming —
blood pouring from her eyes.
Siya crawls across the sand —
her hands now bone-like, spiked, no longer human.
The camera pans upward once more —
and that black crack in the sky has now opened completely.
What lies beyond… is not just darkness.
But a creature made of thousands of voices — all screaming.
It moves toward the lens.
⚫ Final message on the tape:
“If anyone finds this… shut it off.
Don’t watch. Don’t listen.
Don’t follow the sound.”
The footage ends. Sand blows across the screen.
And in the silence, one slow heartbeat thumps.
📢 *If you’ve read this far — be warned.
If you ever hear a heartbeat in the desert…
don’t turn around.*
