 **The Curse of the Voodoo Doll: A Mysterious Tale**  

This story takes place in the year 1892. In the small village of **Blackwood**, surrounded by dense forests and dark, ancient legends, a mysterious event occurred. The village was known for its strange customs and witchcraft. On the outskirts of the village stood an old, dilapidated house that the locals called the **"Shadow House."** It was said that a powerful voodoo priestess named **Madame Lucy** once lived there. She used voodoo dolls to curse people.  

One Halloween night, as the moon shone brightly in the sky and the cold wind rustled through the trees, four friends—**Maya**, **Jake**, **Emma**, and **Leo**—decided to visit the Shadow House. They were all fans of scary stories and thought Halloween night was the perfect time for an adventure.  

Inside the house, the atmosphere was eerie. Cobwebs hung from the walls, and a thick layer of dust covered the floor. In the corner of the room, on an old wooden table, lay a strange doll. It was made of cloth and dried grass, and its eyes were red, as if they held a life of their own.  

Maya picked up the doll and examined it closely. "This is a voodoo doll," she said. "Do you know what they say about these?"  

Jake laughed. "It's just a doll, Maya. What's so scary about it?"  

But Emma and Leo stood silently. They felt something was off. Maya placed the doll back on the table, but suddenly, the temperature in the room dropped. A strange smell filled the air, like something rotting.  

Then, a faint voice was heard. "You touched me... Now you're mine."  

Everyone's hair stood on end. They looked around, but no one was there. Suddenly, the voodoo doll's eyes glowed red, and it slowly rose into the air.  

"What's happening?!" Emma screamed.  

The doll suddenly turned its gaze toward Jake, and a nail appeared in its hand. Jake felt a sharp pain in his body, as if he had been stabbed. He screamed and fell to the floor.  

"We need to get out of here!" Leo shouted.  

But the door slammed shut on its own, and they realized they were trapped. Maya looked at the doll and understood—it was Madame Lucy's curse. She told her friends, "We have to destroy this doll, or it will kill us all."  

They grabbed the doll and threw it into the fire. The doll began to burn, and screams emanated from it. In the flames, the doll's face twisted, and its eyes continued to glow red. Finally, the doll burned to ashes, and the room fell silent again.  

Jake slowly got up and checked his body. There were no marks, but he was still shaken.  

After that night, the friends never spoke of the Shadow House again. But in the village, rumors spread that on Halloween night, screams could be heard from the Shadow House, and the red eyes of the voodoo doll glowed in the dark.  

Some say that Madame Lucy's spirit still roams that house, searching for her voodoo doll. And anyone who touches the doll will fall victim to her curse.  

This story is still told in the village of Blackwood, and people believe that the curse of the voodoo doll is still alive. On Halloween night, the villagers avoid the Shadow House, knowing that mysterious forces lurk in the darkness, waiting to awaken.
